Roman Abramovich took his foot faster when tried to give a speech in his Chelsea dressing room after winning the 2019 Europa Cup trophy

ROMAN ABRAMOVICH’S attempts at a heartfelt dressing-room victory speech were quickly halted as Chelsea Europa League heroes pelted him with objects.
The Russian billionaire, 52, was finally able to watch his side in action for the first time this season after UK visa issues arose last summer.

Since the season began, the first and only match The noble Roman Abromovich witnessed live by watching his boys pounding Arsenal 4-1, and how would he stop smiling.

Roman Abramovich was pelted with objects while trying to deliver a speech in the Chelsea dressing-room after victory in the Europa League.

The Russian billionaire travelled to Baku last night to watch the Blues in action for the first time this season
And the Blues’ owner was rewarded for the trip to Baku with another trophy to add to the Stamford Bridge cabinet as his men swatted Arsenal aside to triumph 4-1.

Post-match Abramovich made his way into the tunnel to grab a number of celebratory snaps with skipper Cesar Azpilicueta before stepping inside the partying locker room.

But as he tried to talk to the Chelsea team he was stopped in his tracks as the boisterous Blues players bombarded him.

Defender David Luiz revealed: “He came and when he was trying to speak the guys were throwing things at him and he left.”

Abramovich’s absence from West London has just been one of the major problems Chelsea have encountered throughout a rollercoaster campaign.

He encountered problems renewing his British visa 12 months ago and it caused him to miss last season’s FA Cup Final triumph over Manchester United.

He has not attended a game since until the final in Azerbaijan.

But Brazilian international Luiz feels ending it with silverware after already securing Champions League football with a third-place finish means it was a successful one.

The 32-year-old said: “This always happens at a big club. We start very well and then we have some up and downs. But we improved throughout the season and we finished very well.

David Luiz can’t pause his smiling with the beautiful Europa League trophy.

“So with the final against City when we were the better side but lost on penalties, we qualified straight away for the Champions League one game before the end of the season and we won today against a fantastic team.

“Arsenal was doing amazing in this competition, Unai knows how to win this competition, it was not easy for us. So in the end I think we did great.

“The Champions League is the place where Chelsea has to be. That’s why we were fighting to be there.”
