GREAT GYAPESH OBSERVED AN UNPRECEDENTED 23RD INTER HOUSE COMPETITION.

It was a spectacular and a mouthwatering inter-house athletics competition ever to have staged since the inception of Gyaama Pensan Senior High Technical School, Aboaso in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

The most decorated competition ever which came off on the 6th and 7th December, 2018 was ushered by the usual publicity and grounds work which was largely engineered and supervised by the Physical Education department of the school couple with the senior housemaster/mistress as well as the various house masters/mistresses

The two-day event was highly patronized by both students and staff. The first day of the event was opened by a thrilling performance by the school cadet corps to the admiration of all patrons and onlookers.

The first track event that took place was 400m heat followed by 800m finals for both boys and girls. Other events on the day were 100m heat, 200m heat, 3000m girls and 5000m boys. The field events that took place were high jump and long jump for boys and girls among others. House three the ultimate winners of the competition took an early lead in most of the events while house two struggled to find their rhythm.

The second day of the competition witnessed some incredible moments as the athletes showcased their Godgiven talents which was to win them medals, certificates, exercise books, pens, notes books and trophies which were all furnished by the headmistress of the school, Ms Stella Ayelle Bruce.

At the end of the competition, house three emerged overall winners with house one and four taking the first and the second runners up positions respectively.

The following individuals also won trophies for themselves. Abigail Acheampong the most decorated athlete of house four won the best track athlete in the girls category while Brefo James of house one also won similar Laurel for the boys category. The headmistress was also honoured with a medal for her immense contribution to the success of this years Gypesh athletics competition.

In her closing remarks, the headmistress said she was enthused with the level of commitment exhibited by various athletes and encouraged all athletes who will be forming the school team for the next year’s interschool and colleges competition to take their training seriously in order to qualify the school for super zonals for the first time.

The headmistress further indicated that ” prizes will also be presented to all best students from all the departments in all levels in the ongoing end of semester examinations”. Hence, she tasked all students to take their studies seriously.
